ONLINE – Windhorse, the Four-Legged Miracle: Three-day Online Vajrayana Retreat
October 1–3, 2022
Advanced Shambhala, Buddhist Meditation Retreats, Online Events, Online Programs
Windhorse — lungta in Tibetan — is familiar to many as a Shambhala practice for arousing awakened energy. But it is also a mainstay of the traditional Tibetan Buddhist path.
The Vidyadhara taught the “four legs of miraculous action” at the 1973 Seminary, and the “four legs of the windhorse” at the 1978 Kalapa Assembly. On the mahamudra path, the four legs are embedded in the practice of guru yoga. Mipham Rinpoche refers to “the virtuous windhorse, the four-legged miracle” in his famous Invocation for Raising Windhorse.
We will study and practice the range of applications of lungta, from the abrupt recognition of mind nature to the gradual gathering of qualities that miraculously carry the student from the Path of Accumulation to the Path of Union.
Each day will consist of morning and afternoon sessions, which will include a brief talk, meditation practice with pith instructions, and discussion. All sessions will be recorded and available to participants for 30 days following the program.
