About the Event

Join us for an evening of Indian devotional music in the mountains.

Sacred Sound Lab brings kīrtan — call-and-response singing from the Bhakti traditions of South Asia — to Sacred Studies Hall, woven with devotional songs (bhajans) and Indian classical rāga in lush, modern arrangements. The music moves between propulsive, ecstatic rhythm and still, ethereal beauty, carrying voice and heart toward the Divine.

Sheela Bringi — voice, harp, bansuri
Brent Kuecker — voice, harmonium
Mx Puja Singh — voice
Nabin Shrestha — tabla
Elden Kelly — fretted/fretless guitar

“A captivating synthesis of East and West, with Sheela’s exceptional voice soaring above all else. Sublime!” — Light of Consciousness Magazine

Sheela Bringi is an Indian vocalist, rāga harpist, and bansuri (bamboo flute) player, and adjunct faculty in Indian devotional and rāga singing at Naropa University. She co-founded Sacred Sound Lab with Brent Kuecker, a devotional vocalist, harmonium player, and fellow Naropa adjunct faculty member. Mx Puja Singh teaches voice, harmonium, and kīrtan with Sacred Sound Lab, drawing on their Punjabi Sikh heritage and India’s devotional traditions. Elden Kelly is a guitar virtuoso who moves seamlessly across Indian, jazz, classical, and folk traditions on fretted and fretless guitar. Nabin Shrestha is a master tabla player and music educator from Nepal, based in Colorado. Together they bring India’s devotional and classical music into modern, collaborative performance.

Summer platform tents are available from late May through early September. A tent can be rented as a single (without a roommate) or a double (with a roommate).

Some of our campgrounds were impacted by a recent wildfire and the affects may still be visible this summer, however, they are safe to use.

Bedding is not provided. Please bring your own twin sheets, blanket or sleeping bag, a pillow and towels.

Dormitories
Rooms with beds for up to 7-8 people. Gender-segregated with men in their own dorm and women in another. The dorms use a shared bathroom down the hall, which is also equipped with shower stalls.

Monk Rooms
A cost-effective option for participants looking for indoor, solitary lodging, but who don’t mind using a shared bathroom or are looking for a more affordable retreat solution. These rooms are in the same hall as the Ridgen Dormitories, but offer more privacy than the dorms. In addition to a bed, bedding, a private room and closet, the monk rooms also have a large window and a desk and desk chair for added comfort.
