About the Retreat

This nature-based meditation retreat invites you into a living experience of aliveness—an opportunity to reconnect with the vitality, presence, and fullness that can feel distant in the wake of stress or trauma. Through mindfulness and somatic practices immersed in the natural world, you will explore how healing is not only about restoration, but about awakening your capacity to feel, engage, and live more fully.

Trauma can disrupt our inner ecosystems, leaving us dysregulated, disconnected, or diminished in our sense of vitality. Nature offers a powerful pathway back—not only to balance, but to a renewed sense of energy, curiosity, and embodied presence. As we attune to the rhythms of the Earth, we begin to gently reawaken the body’s natural intelligence, allowing us to move from survival into a more vibrant experience of being alive.

This retreat weaves together nature-based mindfulness and somatic practices to support both healing and enlivening. Mindfulness in nature cultivates awareness, steadiness, and compassion, while somatic practices help you safely re-inhabit your body with greater ease and authenticity. As your system settles, space opens for spontaneity, connection, deeper engagement with life and interconnectedness with the Earth.

Throughout our time together, participants will engage in a blend of silent and relational experiences, including guided nature meditations, reflective journaling, and immersive time on the land. These practices are designed not only to support trauma healing, but to rekindle a sense of wonder, vitality, and belonging within the web of life. You will leave with practical tools to continue nurturing both regulation and aliveness in your daily life.

No prior meditation or somatic experience is required—only a willingness to listen, slow down, and be present. This retreat is open to all who feel called to reconnect with themselves and the living world. However, because we will be engaging in meaningful inner work, those who have recently experienced significant loss or acute life transitions may wish to consider timing and readiness before attending.

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is for beginning and seasoned practitioners alike–no prior experience with meditation or somatic healing is needed.

While throughout the retreat, support will be given both individually and in group settings to attend to the experience of healing trauma, it would be best to wait to attend this event if you have had a recent loss or acute traumatic event.

Lodging

We have several accommodations to choose from during checkout.

Single and Double Tents

Located in campgrounds throughout the property, these 12′ x 14′ tents have two twin beds, two bookcases and a hanging clothes rack.* Each campground offers a shared bathhouse. Summer platform tents are available from late May through early September. A tent can be rented as a single (without a roommate) or a double (with a roommate).

Some of our campgrounds were impacted by a recent wildfire and the affects may still be visible this summer, however, they are safe to use.

Bedding is not provided. Please bring your own twin sheets, blanket or sleeping bag, a pillow and towels.

Dormitories
Rooms with beds for up to 7-8 people. Gender-segregated with men in their own dorm and women in another. The dorms use a shared bathroom down the hall, which is also equipped with shower stalls.

Monk Rooms
A cost-effective option for participants looking for indoor, solitary lodging, but who don’t mind using a shared bathroom or are looking for a more affordable retreat solution. These rooms are in the same hall as the Ridgen Dormitories, but offer more privacy than the dorms. In addition to a bed, bedding, a private room and closet, the monk rooms also have a large window and a desk and desk chair for added comfort.

Single and Double Rooms
The perfect choice for a retreat where you want both your own space and your own bathroom. Each room offers a little more space, a dresser and closet, and a 3/4s bathroom (toilet, sink, and shower, no bathtub) attached to each room.

Junior Suite
Our Lodge Junior Suites include a queen-size bed topped by a cozy comforter, a desk, dresser, closet and private bath with bathtub, plus a sitting area.
