About this Program
At the darkest and quietest time of the year, when the natural world is turning inward and our bodies may be asking for more rest, our culture often asks us to do more. The end of the year can bring a flurry of deadlines, gatherings, travel, expectations, and obligations, leaving little room to listen to our own rhythms.
In this experiential online program, author and mindfulness teacher Dr. Cynthia Garner invites us to explore what it might mean to meet this season differently. Rather than making slowing down one more thing to accomplish, we’ll practice listening to the wisdom of the body, noticing the momentum that keeps us moving, and creating small pockets of rest and presence within the lives we are already living.
Through guided mindfulness, reflection, and simple practices for a “micro-rest,” we’ll explore ways to honor our biological need for restoration while remaining engaged with the people and responsibilities that matter to us.
Together, we’ll practice stepping out of the current of constant doing, even for a few moments at a time, and rediscover the quiet nourishment of simply being.
