Program Coordinator

Program Coordinators are instrumental in the success of hosting our wide variety of on land programs. This position holds all the information for how to deliver each program successfully. With support from the Program Manager and other operations departments, a Program Coordinator is accountable for ensuring all aspects of program delivery are communicated to the appropriate parties.

This position reports to the Program Manager.

Paid year-round and seasonal positions, as well as volunteer opportunities, are available. 

Qualifications:

  • Organized, detail oriented, punctual, self-motivated, and flexible 
  • Strong computer (e.g. Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and Google Drive, Documents, and Gmail), oral, and written communication skills
  • Kindness, conscientiousness, and strategic thinking
  • Ability to work well with different kinds of people in a fast paced environment 
  • Possess a guest service mindset and commitment to presenters and participants having a positive experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the planning and organizing for the delivery of on land programs
  • Collaborate with Program Developers, Program Manager, and presenters to define specific needs for each assigned program.
  • Organize and communicate work required by each department to deliver programs successfully
  • Serve as the DMC liaison for program participants shortly before, during, and after the program. This includes oral and written communication as well as an orientation presentation at the start of the program. 
  • Respond to requests from presenters and participants, and think proactively and creatively when requests cannot be easily accommodated 
  • Willing availability outside of standard working hours to meet program needs
  • Coordinate with Online Programs Manager for Hybrid Programs
  • Maintain organized records of the planning, execution, and debriefing process in accordance with standard departmental procedures

Compensation and Benefits for Year-Round Employees:

  • $13.65 per hour (living at DMC); $15.00 per hour (living at own home)
  • Participation in DMC’s Paid Time Off and Paid Sick Leave program (estimated 10 days of PTO accrued in first year of employment, 12 days in second year, 15 days in third and fourth years, 20 days in fifth and subsequent years)
  • If choosing to live at DMC, low-cost housing and meal plan required (currently a combined $375.00 per month)
  • Free participation in staff classes and programs

  • We anticipate that most incoming employees and volunteers will be housed indoors. Many of our indoor housing options will require living with one or more staff members in separate bedrooms. Some incoming staff may be housed in canvas tents from early June through early September. Employees are charged $100.00 per month for housing. Do you understand our current housing situation?
  • Your assigned housing may require you to share a gendered bathhouse with other community members and guests. We also have a private gender neutral restroom available for showering. Are you willing to share a gendered bathhouse with curtained showers?
  • Participation in DMC's meal plan is required for all employees who live in DMC-provided housing. The meal plan costs $275.00 per month and typically includes three prepared meals per day, coffee, tea, fruit, and snacks. Meat is offered at some meals. Vegetarian, vegan, and wheat-free options are available at each meal. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate any other dietary needs. Employees and volunteers do not have use of a kitchen for preparing their own meals. Do you understand our meal options?
