
Nabin Shrestha
Nabin Shrestha (he/him) is an acclaimed tabla virtuoso and educator whose artistry bridges the depth of Hindustani classical music with contemporary global influences. Born and trained in Nepal, he has devoted his life to rhythm, earning a Master’s degree in Music from Gandharva Music University, the prestigious Shri Hari Om Trust Award, and an ICCR scholarship. His playing blends technical mastery with expressive, immersive rhythm, allowing him to move effortlessly between classical, fusion, jazz, and cross-cultural settings on stages across Nepal, India, and the United States. As both a recording and performing artist, Nabin’s work includes original albums such as Raaganubhuti (Hindustani Classical), Murchchhana (Jazz Fusion), and Re-drums (Traditional Nepali Drums and Tabla). He also founded the jazz-classical fusion ensemble Murchchhana and performs with the fusion project Jam Key Jam. Now based in Colorado, Nabin balances an active performance career with teaching, workshops, and university lectures—sharing his deep love of rhythm while mentoring a new generation of musicians.
