Master Brian Scott
Master Brian is currently teaching martial arts within the Physical Education Department at University of Colorado Boulder campus, leading classes in boxing, eskrima, Brazilian Jui-jitsu, Muay Thai, and Women’s Self Defense. He holds a 5th degree Black Belt in Doce Pares eskrima, a 4th Degree Black Belt in Freestyle Karate under Tim Wolchek, a 1st Degree Black Belt in Hawaiian Kenpo, a Kru in Muay Thai under Kru Suchat Chunton, a USA Boxing certified coach, and a 1st degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Bob Bass. He is an 8-time WEKAF World Champion, with titles in both full-contact sparring and forms, as well as a long time referee and the current Rocky Mountain Regional director for WEKAF USA. In addition to stick fighting competitions, he is also a seasoned and accomplished veteran competitor, coach, and referee in sport karate and BJJ, having competed and coached in several Muay Thai, MMA, and Golden Gloves Boxing matches and tournaments. Breath work, mindfulness, and Buddhism are highly fundamental in his core skills, especially in regards to Muay Thai.
