Lara Johnson

Dr. Lara Johnson, a certified yoga instructor and wellness coach, has been a competitive runner since her 800-meter state qualifying high school days growing up in Greeley, Colo. She is the author of the just-published “The Nerve to Heal,” the capstone to a life-long passion for exploring the ways the human body can move, heal, strengthen, and express itself. While getting her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, Lara studied human anatomy by day and raced with the Boston Athletic Association by night. But it was her years in the clinic listening to thousands of bodies and the people who lived inside them that shaped her most profound realization: healing happens when we treat the root, not the noise. She uses a gentle approach in helping people learn to trust their bodies in her Boulder-based practice, “Yellow Brick Physical Therapy.” Lara’s deepest joy is helping people rediscover the strength, ease, and possibility that have been inside them all along.
