Hilda Cruz Guiao
Hilda Cruz Guiao (they/them) has been practicing mindfulness since 2001 and holds a Master of Arts degree in Ethics and Social Theory from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA.
Hilda has been an high school educator for ten years, and brings with them nine years of ministry experience and social justice work with young adults, and a deep passion for building relationships with youth.
As a teen, Hilda struggled with being a queer, nonbinary student of color, at a time in the late 1990s into 2000s where these identities were not widely accepted or embraced, especially in a Catholic high school setting. They struggled with finding a sense of belonging to themselves and the world at large and in finding autonomy within the typical comprehensive high school setting.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Hilda is first-generation Filipinx American and is an avid outdoors person with a deep love and respect for the natural world.
