Write to the Heart of Motherhood: Rest, Connection, and Creativity for Mother’s Day

May 7–9, 2026

Creative Expression, Meditation & Mindfulness, On Land Retreats

Program Start Date & Time: May 7th  |  7:00 pm

Program End Date & Time: May 9th|  12:30 pm

Write to the Heart of Motherhood is an invitation for Mamas into lush rest, quiet reflection, natural creativity, and nourishing connection. In the 3 days before Mother’s Day, fill your cup deeply with the potent resources cultivated together with other mothers in creative and spiritual practice.

Your voice – as mama, as woman – is what this retreat makes space for. This voice matters. Finding and using your true voice — the one that gives you goosebumps when you write it, that turns you on, that brings tears to your eyes, and suddenly aligns your body, mind, and heart — matters. It will bring you alive, from the inside out. It’s like well water, bubbling from the depths, for those who are thirsty, including your own self.

Led by poet, Zen teacher, and mama, Brooke McNamara, we’ll enjoy together both silence and expression, stillness and movement, depths of feeling and fun play. Through writing, meditation, and more, we’ll stoke the powerful love that animates the heart of motherhood.

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is for mothers, grandmothers, and expecting mothers who wish to rest and rejuvenate through creative and spiritual practice together with other mothers just ahead of Mother’s Day. All experience levels in writing and meditation are welcome, and there is no expectation of productivity.

What will participants get out of this retreat?

Participants will receive a vivid experience of connection to themselves, other mothers, and the natural world through writing, meditation, and nourishing interpersonal connection. They will release old burdens, reconnect to aliveness, and replenish joy and creative flow.

Testimonials

“This has been a jump into unearthing so much material that has not been given the light of day or the attention. It has offered such a deepening into my journey as a mother. Writing is such a powerful way of expressing! My heart, soul and body all needed this course so much. And needed these other mothers so much!”
~ Deb P. “Gratitude for the creation of this course, the thoughtful distillation and design. Not too much. Dense and potent. Served with extreme and honest generosity. A few weeks have passed now since the course ended, yet I can feel, this content and course have been SO important, relevant and alive for me.“
~ Courtnae
