About the Retreat
In this retreat, you will train in three interrelated modes of practice that are considered core treasures of the Buddhist tradition.
First, you will focus on settling and stabilizing the body and mind. Through both seated meditation and movement practices, including daily Qigong, you’ll develop greater concentration and steadiness.
As you settle, you become better able to look closely at your direct experience: your body, your thoughts, your emotions, and the broader patterns that shape your life, both personal and universal. You begin to see more clearly when reactivity arises, when suffering takes hold, and when there is a solid or “thick” sense of self forming. At the same time, you learn how to stay present with the natural, impermanent flow of experience rather than resisting it.
As you continue to settle and see more clearly, you can also begin to tune into an increasingly open and luminous awareness beyond reactivity. This awareness becomes a source of freedom, wisdom, and compassion, both in retreat practice and in your daily life.
Throughout the retreat, these practices are supported by metta (lovingkindness) and gentle, body-based awareness. This creates a balanced and embodied approach to awakening.
Each day will include meditation instructions and evening talks to clarify the teachings. You will also have one small group meeting and two individual meetings with the teacher, offering space for personal guidance and support.
This retreat is designed to help you strengthen concentration, deepen insight, and cultivate a more compassionate and liberated relationship with your experience.
