About the Program
All Buddhist Traditions have some formal process in which the people practicing together take refuge. A refuge is a place that allows you to feel safe and protected.
In the Theravada Tradition, we chant the refuge chant before teaching or practicing. This chant connects all who are practicing together and co-creates that safe space.
In this 90-minute online program, we will question what it is that we take refuge in and what it means to be in refuge. What is the significance of entering and claiming these protective spaces? What are the elements of space, sangha, and self that create refuge?
