Unplug & Reconnect: A Mindfulness Retreat for Teens and Their Caregivers

May 22–25, 2026

Meditation & Mindfulness, On Land Retreats

Program Arrival Date & Time: 2-5pm on May 22nd

Program Start Date & Time: May 22nd at 7pm

Program End Date & Time: May 25th 1:45 pm

Join us for a restorative and transformative retreat designed for teens (ages 13–18) and the adults who love them. Whether you’re a parent, guardian, or other caregiver, this retreat offers a unique opportunity to slow down, unplug, and reconnect—with yourself and each other.

Over the course of 4 days, you’ll explore how to grow stronger relationships through presence, shared mindfulness practices, and meaningful communication. The retreat offers a balance of shared experiences and separate spaces: teens will have their own time and activities with peers, while caregivers connect with others who share similar roles. Each group will have the chance to explore their own experiences, challenges, and insights in safe, supportive circles.

Together, you’ll enjoy grounding mindfulness practices, time in nature, and guided connection exercises that foster emotional resilience and deep listening. You’ll leave the retreat with renewed understanding, shared memories, and practical tools for compassionate communication! Peace in Schools has been a national leader in mindfulness in education since 2014, launching the nation’s first for-credit mindfulness course in a public high school.

We have created an essential inner curriculum for teens that serves as a way to ask important questions:

  • Who am I?
  • How can I have hope?
  • What do I value?
  • How can I be happy?
  • How can I belong?

We know the challenges that our teens are met with and we also know how difficult being a parent or guardian can be. Over the course of this transformative retreat, both teens and parents will experience being seen, heard, held and acknowledged. This is a time to rest and be held in community just as you are.

Testimonials:

“I now feel hopeful and positive that this experience will support me in my compassion, my own wellbeing and my ability to be present for myself and my kids.”

“You modeled care and compassion and sincerity.”

“It has impacted my communication with my sons…remembering that their behavior/thoughts are not who they are.”

“This experience has been a game changer for me. I am more gentle on myself and present with my students and family in a profound and meaningful way.”

“This experience made me think about my depression differently. When my depression comes up, my inner critic gets really loud (and cruel). Staying connected to the truth through my mindfulness practice will allow me to see the truth of what is happening and turn down the noise of the inner critic.”
