After a long closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, then due to the Cameron Peak Fire, The Great Stupa is once again open to visitors, as of October 10, 2021. While the Stupa did not burn, it sustained damage from smoke and soot. Restoration work continues. Presently, the Stupa does not have cushions in place for meditation.
The Stupa Visitor Center and artist studio burned in the fire. Plans are underway to rebuild the Visitor Center.
