ONLINE – Living With Mindfulness During Political Turbulence
September 24–October 1, 2024 - Tuesdays, 12-2 pm Mountain Time
Healing Workshops, Healthy Communication, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Online Events, Online Programs, Social Impact
Buddhists talk about a dark age where humanity is so hooked by attachment, ignorance, or anger, that we send society into a downward spiral. None of us want to live in a world like this, and yet in times like these we find ourselves triggered by reactions of fear, anxiety, anger, and other strong emotions that make it hard to relate to one another.
This program will examine how we can apply the practices of mindfulness and compassion during times of social turmoil. How can we hold strong beliefs and yet not get caught in the negativity that simply poisons our culture? How can we use awareness to empower our speech and action in a way that has a positive effect?
This program will not be a forum for political debate but rather a chance to unhook from our fears and reactions for the benefit of all those around us.
Everyone is welcome.
