The full-time HR Manager position manages our human resources functions, including employee and seasonal volunteer recruitment; hiring; orienting new employees and volunteers; working with DMC leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures; resolving conflict; and managing staff housing assignments.
The HR manager must live at DMC or near enough to work onsite five days per week.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Working with various departments to develop staffing plans
- Recruiting employees and volunteers
- Managing arrivals, departures, and orientations
- Developing, maintaining, communicating, and administering policies and procedures
- Working with various departments to develop and maintains current position descriptions
- Ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment law
- Administering staff housing assignments
- Assisting departmental managers with supervisory and managerial skill building
- Resolving conflict
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- Experience as a Human Resources generalist, preferably in a not for profit organization
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with challenging situations and develop creative solutions to problems
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ideal candidate will have past experience with Drala Mountain Center or knowledge of the center’s history
Compensation and Benefits
- 30-40 hours per week
- Compensation based on experience and whether one lives at DMC or commutes
- On land: $16.00-18.04 per hour
- Off land: $19.39-$24.03 per hour
- If choosing to live at DMC, low-cost housing and meal plan required (currently a combined $375.00 per month)
- Participation in DMC’s Paid Time Off and Paid Sick Leave program (estimated 10 days of PTO accrued in first year of employment, 12 days in second year, 15 days in third and fourth years, 20 days in fifth and subsequent years)
